Monitor specific ports on a Catalyst 2924 using SNMP

Is it possible to only monitor specific ports on a Catalyst 2924 using SNMP?

I want to monitor 3 ports on a particular switch including usage, linkup and linkdown. I do not want to monitor the remainder of the ports on this switch.

You need to know the ifIndex of the port and then poll only those ports which you need to using the ifIndex.

Would you show me how find the ifIndex?

You can poll the ifIndex on the switch to get this value.

If you just want to enable linkUp/Down traps, you can enable these on per interface basis using snmp trap link-status command.
