Monitoring 8540CSR CPU performance

Hi,

Is there a mib function available to monitor cpu load and / or individual cpu processes via snmp? And if so, does that substantially add to the overall cpu load if such monitoring was taking place?

We've been experencing high cpu spikes which seem related to a couple bvi's we've had to implement, including one such incident which caused loss of connectivity for the csr in question.

Thanks,

Jason Scott

The MIB variables used to monitor CPU utilization are described in the following URL.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1824/products_mib_quick_reference_chapter09186a0080080e3c.html#xtocid2844540

Also refer the following two URLs. One of the URL describes about the impact of SNMP on CPU utilization, and the other has the troubleshooting information on High CPU utilization
