I'd like to know if there is a way to receive a message when a serial link is down for a specific amount of time. I've been checking the polling and thresholds but I'm not shure how to get a mailmessage if my link is down for 4 or 5 minutes, because on some regions the lines are very bad and if they go down for 1 or 2 minutes is a "normal" event. So I wouldn't like to get my mailbox full with all those messages.

DFM will send out an instant alert if the link goes down and if setup in DFM to poll that fault but not after say x amount of time. See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/dfm/dfm_faq.htm for more details.
