i have 2 4507s... i have the need for 2 layer 3 vlans on each. the 2 switches are trunked together over fiber. i need to get vlan2 (192.168.1.x)on switch 1 to communicate with vlan2 on switch 2. Is there a way to not speciy an IP for the vlans and get this to still work?

Hi Bkaren

What you want is inter vlan routing betweens vlans and way you want to achieve is not possible.

I mean it is not possible to achieve what you want without configuring the interfaces with an ip addresses.
