Hello.

I have a router 7500 with 12.0(22)S IOS with MPLS enabled over 802.1q vlans and it seems to work fine...

but I have read in Cisco site that only IOS 12.2.X support cef in 802.1q vlans and, on the other hand CEF is required for MPLS, then , the questions ...

Is Cef in 802.1q vlans supported in 12.0(22)S IOS ?

Do I need IOS 12.2X to use MPLS over 802.1q on 7500 routers ? ,

Can I use 12.0(22)S if it seems to work fine ?

Thanks in advance

CEF for IP over 802.1q vlans is supported on IOS 12.2 (13) and a few other releases. You can use the Feature Navigator to check which IOS supports the features that you require.

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/FeatureNav/FN1.pl?HStartForm2=True&Q2Submit=CONTINUE&HFeatOption=547&HFeatSelected=547

Since 12.0 supports basis CEF/dCEF the config seems to work. I don't see a need to upgrade the Routers if it is working
