i am trying to get mrtg trending my routers for bandwidth utilization.
i have setup the cfgs up but something is wrong. the graphs are all green as if the numbers are off the chart. and sometimes the percentages are really high. like 6000%.
i am trying to run this on win2k.
does anyone here have any suggestions or sample confifs for me to look at?
thanks

Can you post your current config here, first?

Did you hand craft your config or did you run Tobi's indexmaker? I find indexmaker does a decent job and is sufficient most times.

i have tried indexmaker and making my own config.
here is an example of an interface of mine.

That config looks fine to me. It's similar to what I use - except I use IP addresses (for routers but ifName for switches) rather than ifIndex.
Is it possible you do in fact have a steady stream of traffic hitting your interface so it shows as a solid green area? Try putting a 'Unscaled[192.168.101.200_5]:ymwd" in the config. That will produce a graph scaled between 0 and MaxBytes.

well, the outbound stats are pegged at 2012.8 MB and that value never changes. so that's why i think something is messed up.
btw, i tried your suggestion with the unscaled command. i either didn't put it in the correct place or it just didn't make a difference.

You are probably running MRTG V2.9.26b, right? Well, taht version doesn't work. I spent about 2 days shooting the same problem with no luck. Try using V2.9.22 instead. It appears to work just fine.
