MSFC problem

My company have a Catalyst 6506 with two supervisor engines (WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE)and both appear to work fine althougt the system LED is red, both in primary and secondary.

Does anyone have any clue about it?

Do a show mod, you may see both of them faculty as the status.

a) Do a "show system" and you would probably see something is faulty.

You need two power supply for the system to come out faulty status.

b) you can also do a show test 1 and show test 2.

to see anything if faculty

Make sure that both power supplies are on. If one of them is off, system LED on both supervisory modules lits to indicate this.

But using the show test 2, i discovered that the EOBC is faulty. How can i solve this problem?

Most likely a hardware failure. But you can try reseating the module to see if that helps.

But what is this Ethernet Out-of-Band Channel? What it does?
