MST BPDU

Hello,

Does anyone have an idea on how to prevent the propagation of bpdu's (input and output) on a trunk running multiple spanning tree protocol (mst)?

If possible, please give sample configuration?

Thanks.

Re: MST BPDU

Hello friend,

this command might help you:

spanning-tree bpdufilter

Use the spanning-tree bpdufilter interface configuration command to prevent a port from sending or receiving bridge protocol data units (BPDUs).

You can enable the BPDU filtering feature when the switch is operating in the per-VLAN spanning-tree plus (PVST+), rapid-PVST+, or the multiple spanning-tree (MST) mode.

"BPDU filtering:

When configured globally: The port looses its Port Fast status if a BPDU is received; "We are not supposed to talk STP, but if you want I'll talk to you, you will have to obey the regular STP rules though)”

When configured on an interface: the port ignores any received BPDU and do not send any BPDU; "I don't want to talk STP with you, I'll just ignore you if you try"

"

I hope it does.
