dear engineers,

i have a 4507 r switch installed as backbone to my nework. i wish to implement MLS (multilayer layer switching) on this. but no supported commands found on the switch. one of my cisco trainer were saying MLS is already implemented on the 4507 r. no more configuration is needed.

is it true.. please advice me.

regards

kondela

Hi sagia

i'm not sure if mls is enabled by defualt on your switch/R

but you can make sure and test your mls cache with the command:

sh mls enty *

see if there is any entry created in your cache

i hope this helps

Best Regards

The 4507 may just use CEF rather than MLS. This is the case for the Cat6500 SUP2 and SUP720 modules.

450x with Sup3/4 uses CEF based forwarding by default
