Multicast Flooding on 2900XL Series Switches

I have a Multicast enabled network. On the source segment of my network is a series of content servers. There are no clients on this segment yet all ports of my 2900XL series switch gets flooded with multicast destination traffic from all the servers. CGMP is enabled on the router interface, IGMP works fine and my content does traverse the network with no problems. I am certained that eventually the multicast traffic demands will increase to the point the switch will no longer be able to handle it and I will drop packets. Is there something I am missing with CGMP and implementation on 2900's ???

Thank you in advanced,

Nick

Re: Multicast Flooding on 2900XL Series Switches

Make sure you have:

-cgmp enabled on the switch

-pim enabled on the router interface connected to that vlan/segment

-ip cgmp under the router interface connected to that vlan/segment

-that you have learned a router port on the 2900 switch
