multicast forwarding in newer Catalysts

I know that 3750 do not use any MAC aliasing anymore so you don't see a multicast MAC address anymore in the MAC table. The frames will be forwarded by the IP IGMP entry that will be created by IGMP reports.

Does anyone know about other platforms (6500, 4500, 2950, etc.) that already have changed in the forwarding strategy or that will change in the next few months?

Re: multicast forwarding in newer Catalysts

Native mode can support the highest IP multicast forwarding ratesup to 170 Mpps in a fully distributed system.
