multicast over dot1q trunk

I have three 6509 switches, two core devices with sup720's and one closet switch with a supII. I am using VLC media player as my test multicast sender / receiver. I am running pim sparse-dense mode with auto RP. My switch named EVEN is the RP (and VTP master). Even is connected to the closet switch over a routed connection, when running pim on all interfaces in the path VLC works great in either direction. My other core switch named ODD is connected to even over a dot1q trunk. I can't get multicast from the closet to ODD or ODD to the closet. ODD learns of VLAN 6 from EVEN. I created interface vlan6 on ODD and enabled pim (Also on for VLAN6 on even) but I still cannot pass multicast. What is the right way to do this? Thanks.
