Multicast question

Hi all,

If I implement multicast, should all the routers of my network enable it? for example the following diagram using sparse-mode:

--R1--R2--R3--R4--R5--

If R3 as RP, R1 is the source and R5 is the client. Must I enable multicast and using command "ip pim sparse-mode" in the interface of R2, R3 and R4 and use "ip pim rp-address" command in R2, R3 and R4? Thank You!

Best Regards

Re: Multicast question

you can also setup tunnels between R1-R3 and R3-R5, so that multicast can be tunneled without enable it on R2 and R4. But, all the tunnel interfaces must be muticast enabled.
