Multicasting NTP

Is it possible to multicast the absolute time. We have a need to have time available to a Fluke Optiview Series II. This sniffer doesn't have hardware NTP capability. It also can't be setup for Windows XP NTP because there is a shim between the network port and the Windows OS. It becomes impossible to get an absolute time into the sniffer.

If it were possible to multicast the NTP time then those packets could be captured.

I just realized that if I had a device requesting time from a gigabit port that was in the same vlan that I wanted to sniff then I would get that NTP packet available and would have accuracy within the 4 microseconds turnaround time on a switchport on a 4506, probably faster on a 6513.

Thanks for beeeing.......

No, I don't think it is possible to multicast the absolute time
