Multilink Frame Relay

I have a 7507 running 12.2(8)T5. I have a VIP2-10 with two PA-MC-8T1 cards installed. Even though the command line help show the command "Interface MFR 1", when I enter the command it give me an invalid input error. Can you offer a suggestion?

Re: Multilink Frame Relay

MFR is a virtual interface that serves as the Frame Relay data link and performs the same functions as a physical interface. So You need to configure different physical serial interface first with frame-relay encap mfr before you configure mfr interface.. Those serial interface belongs to T1 line.

Pl. visit following link for that on sample config.

Just to add, here is a very good doc which explains how to configure "multilink Frame-Relay" in detail with troubleshooting too.

Re: Multilink Frame Relay

Since I entered the message, I found a document stating I need at least a VIP2-50. Can I use mfr with a VIP2-10 with what you posted earlier?
