I'm going to configure Multilink PPP over a Cisco 1751, the question is:
does anybody know if this platform is enough to support multilink on more of 2 Mb link ?
I'd like to avoid to have Cpu problem when the customer is running...
thanks

Hello,
according to Cisco, you shouldn't use PPP multilink on links faster than 2Mbps. Check out this link:

hi georg
my question was related to the router platform.
is cisco 2651XM (with 128 RAM and 32 Flash) enough to support ppp multilink with 2 x 2Mb link ?
I mean CPU stressing and so on....
greetings

Hi,
I asked around and got the following additional info:
You don't need it. You use MLPPP w/ LFI to deal with the serialization delay that a slow link has. A 2 Mpbs link has a very small serialization delay (actually the docs say that 768k and above don't
need LFI).
I guess that means that CPU problems on a 1751 or 2600XM are not really relevant, since you would not implement multilink PPP on the >2Mbps links.
Regards,
Georg
