Is is possible/advisable to have to routers that have one interface in area 0 and one in the same other area (say 1 for giggles.)? I'm looking at having two routers, each with an uplink to our primary lan. Within this secondary lan there are mulitple ubrs. Currently this whole arrangement operates within area 0, but I'd like to separate out the secondary lan into it's own area so I can take advantage of route summerization, as well as keeping link fluctuations in the secondary lan from perculating into the primary lan's routers. Is this possible, or will I have to break ospf between the two areas and maintian static routes across the uplinks?
