We have been using nGenius 1.3 with our NAM to monitor our network. I have read that the latest software release 2.1 for the NAM includes the NAM Traffic Analyzer. My question is can this replace my nGenius server? Does it have all the same features for gathering and displaying historical data? I am just looking for some feedback from anyone who has used this software. Thanks
The new NAM interface is very feature-rich, but it does not yet do any historical data collecting or analysis. If you're just looking for a real-time analysis tool on a per-device level, then the NAM web interface is all you need. If you're looking at a more campus-oriented or historical tool, then consider keeping RTM. If you need longer-term trending or billing capabilities, you will have to look to other third-party tools like Netscout's Capacity Planner.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
