Can you run NAT on the same router that is also running BGP? If so, is the ip nat outside statement placed on each serial interface or the loopback? I cant find any examples on Cisco site.

NAT and BGP are basically unrelated. You can run them both on the same router.
"ip nat outside" should be placed on any interface that NATed traffic exits your network. Most likely not the loopback unless you're doing "nat on a stick".

I tried a configuration on my practice rack where router a and router c had an ebgp session, and router b was between them, and running NAT.
It was successful. I did have to NAT 1 to 1 for the BGP address, and in my example use EBGP multi-hop.
The configs looked strange. However, I verified that the source address was not imbedded in the BGP packet.
