nat on 1712

interface FastEthernet0

ip address 212.2.3.3

ip nat outside

!

interface FastEthernet1

no ip address

interface FastEthernet2

no ip address

fastethernet 1 -4 are supposed to be a switch. Where do I place the ip address and the ip nat inside on the inside lan? Can I hadle all fastethernet ports as normal ethernet ports on the router?

Whichever interface you connect to your internal network and wants participate in NAT operation you need to configure it as inside interface.

The basic requirement for NAT operation is there should be atleast one inside and one outside interface.

Hi,

As it is 4 port Switch module, you can not assign ip to any of the ports.

How ever, you can configure VLANs (Upto 16), like if you are doing in L3 switch.

So any VLAN interface can be used to participate in NAT
