just a quick question. i think i'm thinking too much. lol anyways

ip nat translation timeout 3600

ip nat translation tcp-timeout 36000

ip nat translation pptp-timeout 36000

ip nat translation max-entries 1000

does this mean that the translation is only valid for 1 hour and that if you in the middle of one of those connections and the hour is up you'll drop the conenction or does it mean after 1 hour of non-use or no activity the translation will be removed?

i appreciate the help

thanks that answered my question. out of curiosity how does cisco determine when something is idle? how much time has to go by without traffic for it to be determined as idle and the timeouts kick in?
