Hi I need to know if theres a way for me to mesures the bandwidth usage from the Router (1720 Ver 12.0[7]T). I have a T-1 line and need to know how hard my bandwidth is being hit.

Thank you for your Time & Help!

Josh

You can look at www.mrtg.org for this. It's a free ware.

how will does these work & does it show the whole picture? I have 2 servers directly behind the router the may 100-200 computers. I can measure from the 1 server at a time. But it's only showing me half of the picture. What I would like to do is measure how much data is going though the wan side (so that I can see all traffic).

Thank you.

Josh

I agree MRTG would be an easy way to go. If you do not have a lot of time, and want to do it easily, (without learning how to use MRTG and RRDtool) and you have a Windows PC or server you can install on, I would highly reccomend using:

http://open-innovations.com/mrtgbundle.html

This will walk all the interfaces on your 1700 and give you a basic Bytes in Out for each. you will need WinPcap installed. It takes me about 20 mins. to set one up. Good luck!

Good answer. Another alternative for those persons comfortable with Linux you should take a look at Cacti for graphing your network at http://www.raxnet.net/
