Net Flow

I would like to monitor my netflow traffic of 2950 Switches, if analyzer is linux based, it will be very suitable for me.

Catalyst 3550 support Netflow Data Export.

Actually that is incorrect. None of the desktop switches (29XX, 35XX, 37XX) platforms support netflow.

I believe the confusion is due to the fact that certain netflow commands are configurable on tehse switches but not completely functional even though IP flows are sent to related servers.

The Catalyst 4500 series switches do support NetFlow Statistics Collection, however, to use the NetFlow feature, you must have the Supervisor Engine V-10GE (the functionality is embedded in the supervisor engine), or the NetFlow Services Card (WS-F4531) and either a Supervisor Engine IV or a Supervisor Engine V.

The Catalyst 6500 switches support netflow in all supervisor revisions.

Somebody told me that 3550 metro series support NETFLOW. Is it true ?

No, there is no support or plans for netflow support on the metro switches as well.
