NETBEUI over TCP/IP on WIN2K Proffessional PC

I want to be able to dial-in from home to our Cisco 3640

remote access router and then click on "My Network Places"

& be able to see our servers. For some reason, when I go

into control panel\network stuff to bind NETBEUI to the

dial-up adapter, NETBEUI is not there as an option.

NETBIOS NBF has already been configged on the 3640 & it is

running. According to the Cisco doc.'s, this is all the

router needs, so I think I have a client issue here.

Anyone have any ideas on this matter. Thanks for your time & patience.

Re: NETBEUI over TCP/IP on WIN2K Proffessional PC

Its better if you use TCP/IP and setup a WINS server inside your network, this is the solution for NetBIOS names on WAN. In order to do that, you have to config a primary Wins in WIN2K client.

Netbeui is a non routeable protocol.
