I have a need to perform some traffic accounting on a layer 2 only network. I have an NMS that is capable of receiving Netflow exports.
Does anyone know if it is possible to hang a router off one switch and SPAN a port(s) to it so that it may export the flows to the NMS? I wouldn't want the router to do anything with the packets other than record the flows and export the data.
