no gns response when dial in over isdn

i have a 3640 with an e1 controller plus internal mica modems to service dial in clients over isdn and analogue. The problem comes with clients that need to access netware servers that run only ipx, the analogue clients have no problem but the isdn ones do.

I have put network monitor on a dial up client and have done a packet capture when dialing in over isdn and then analogue and compared the results.

The isdn clients are not getting a response to nearest service requests but they do get a response to general service requests which are broadcast the same as nearest service requests, they then go on to sending ncp requests to which they never get a response.

The analogue clients do get a response to nearest service requests and then ncp connect requests.

we also have an old shiva lan rover which this router will replace and the isdn clients have no problems over that.

i have attached my router config.

any suggestions would be welcome

Can you trace in which direction you are losing the requests?

Is the request not forwarded, or is the response not arriving at the client?

it seems that the router is receiving but not responding - below is output of show ipx interfaces command for the logical dialr interface as you can see ggs replies are being returned but not gns, the bottom two lines are the most relevant.
