Nonblocking on a port

What excatly does nonblocking mean? is there a document I could refer to?

With regard to switches, non-blocking simply means that there is as much or more "bandwidth" on the switch backplane than the summ of the ports. So no traffic is blocked whilst access to the backplane is arbitrated.
