NSSA

I am experiencing a strange phenomenon.

R2 and R1 area in area 51. R1 is an ABR to area 0. R2 is an ABR to area 12. So a virtual link is configured between R2 and R1. area 12 is a NSSA. So it has a route in its routing table, which is O N2. This route is not getting exchanged to R1. Even though virtual link is working fine, and other routes are exchanged between R2 and R1.

Any suggestions are welcome.

First, i suggest you issue show ip ospf d ex command on R2 to check if R2 translate LSA type-7 to type-5, because in normal condition, this translation is needed. I think the answer would be no. If yes, i think maybe because that, in virtual link condition, R2 just work as a ABR between area 0 and area 12, O EX2 SLA should flood to other non-stub area, so i think the reason seems like R2 does not translate N2 to EX2, but i don't know why, maybe VL is not work for this condition.
