NTP backup

I am configuring NTP on a customer network, but am not sure how to setup a

second clocksource so that if my one main NTP server goes down everything

can get the clock from another source or secondary master.

I am using one of the core routers as my server, and want to configure one of the other core routers as the backup ntp server so that when Doncaster comes up it can also get the clock from the secondary clock server because it would have reset back to default if it failed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: NTP backup

Have you got HSRP configured between the 2 core routers. If yes. then there should be a HSRP virtual ip address for the routers. Use that as the server ip address in your clients.

This is a round about solution
