NTP Problem.

Hello,

A customer has got a 7513 and a 4006L3 (4232 card).

He wants synchronize the 4006L3 to 7513.

He inserts the follow command on the 4006 : ntp server ip@7513.

During 15 minutes exactly, the 4006 is very synchronized.

At the 15minutes 01 secondes exactly and after, the 4006 is desynchronized !!!

1. Which ntp server is uses the 7513 and how are those stats?

2. Have you tried to configure a different ntp server than the 7513? You could use some public ntp servers:

3. You could use more the 1 as ntp servers and put a "prefer" behind your favorite one.

Hello Andreas and thank You for your help.

1) The ntp on a 7513 used a firewall ntp and it's working good.

Those stats show that it"s synchronised.

2-3) I tried to configure the ntp on 7513 and it's ok.

The probleme is located on 4232-card from the 4006.

We different ntp servers on 4232-card from the 4006, it's failed after 15minutes.

But I have reproduce this bug in our labs with the same IOS version

for the 4232-card from 4006 ( version : cat4232-in-mz.120-7.W5.15d.bin ).

I am surprised that i haven't found informations on the TAC cisco.

I have tried with another recent IOS (cat4232-in-mz.120-18.W5.22b.bin or cat4232-in-mz.120-10.W5.18f.bin) and we don't have desynchronisations.

I think we will update the version of the 4232.
