NTP routing through Cisco 803 with IOS/Firewall 12.05(T)

We are trying to enable NTP packets to be routed to/from from our in-house server to an internet time server through our Cisco 803 (IOS/Firewall 12.05(T)).

Using ConfigMaker v2.5.1 we have configured the Firewall to allow NTP(123). However, during delivery of the router configuration the following error occurs:

QUOTE

Context: Global configuration mode.

Command: access-list 100 permit tcp host 192.168.1.99 any eq NTP

^

Error: Invalid input detected at "^" marker.

This problem may be a mismatch in the image set aaa0842.bin on the router.

UNQUOTE

(Note: The "^" appears beneath the "2" digit.)

All other access-list entries for this IP address are accepted without error.

I have searched the release notes and caveats but can find no relevant reference.

Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround?

I think the problem resides in the keyword "NTP" in your access-list. I've checked this config line in a 806 router and you cannot use that keyword. Suggestion: just type in the port number instead of the keyword!

Dimitri is quit right - you could also use SNTP instead of port no.
