OS has been deleted in AP350

Dear Sirs

I have Cisco Access point 350 with IOS 12.2 JA, I want to upgrade it to 12.8 IOS version. I have download the c350-k9w7-tar.123-7.JA3.tar file from cisco web site and copyed it to flash from TFTP so I thouth that I have to remove the old OS and let the new one extracted, so I have delete the OS file in flash witch is c350-k9w7-tar.122-13.JA1, and now I am not able to boot the AP.

Please help me how I can install the new OS version 12.8 and

There must be some output or blank screen on hypertrm when u connect it via console and boot the AP350 .

Thanks for reply yes the following is the output on the term.

man my AP is not configured and I can't access this link for sure because there is no OS to boot.

Using the CLI on the Serial Port

Follow the steps below to reload the access point image using CLI on the serial port. When the access point begins to boot, you interrupt the boot process and use boot loader commands to load an image from a TFTP server to replace the image in your access point

Note Your access point configuration is not changed when you use the CLI to reload the image file.

Step 1 Open the CLI using a Telnet session or a connection to the access point console port.

Step 2 Reboot the access point by removing and reapplying power.

Step 3 Let the access point boot until it begins to inflate the image. When you see these lines on the CLI, press Esc:

Step 4 When the ap: command prompt appears, enter the set command to assign an IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway to the access point.

Note You must use upper-case characters when you enter the IP-ADDR, NETMASK, and DEFAULT_ROUTER options with the set command.

Your entries might look like this example:

ap: set IP_ADDR 192.168.133.160

ap: set DEFAULT_ROUTER 192.168.133.1

Step 5 Enter the tftp_init command to prepare the access point for TFTP.

ap: tftp_init

Step 6 Enter the tar command to load and inflate the new image from your TFTP server. The command must include this information:

•The -xtract option, which inflates the image when it is loaded

•The IP address of your TFTP server

•The directory on the TFTP server that contains the image

•The name of the image

•The destination for the image (the access point Flash)

Your entry might look like this example:

Step 9 Enter the set command to check your bootloader entries.

IP_ADDR=192.168.133.160

NETMASK=255.255.255.0

Step 10 Enter the boot command to reboot the access point. When the access point reboots, it loads the new image.

Thank you for your support,

the problem I don't have the JAR1 file because I have download this file name from cisco web site"c350-k9w7-tar.123-7.JA3.tar" and it's not able to do the previous instruction you have mentioned

also I have extract this file through winrar and inside I find one folder contain JAR1 file but also I faced the same problem witch saying permision denied !! and some time getting error saying connection time out but my TFTP is working fine for sure.

Hi Friend,

As you updated in your previous post there is a folder inside. With inside you mean inside the flash?

If yes I don't think so you can extract it when it is inside the flash. Its better you can delete that folder.

Can you download the file again from cicso website and do not extract it and follow the same procedure what NEO had updated!!

how are you man, thanks for ur post, I mean inside the folder... I have download the .tar file from cisco site and when I tryed to uploade it to AP as the neo instract to me, I was not able to do that, so I have extract this file in my pc using winrar so inside this folder of extraction I find one .JAR1 file (as shown in Neo instruction) and tryed to uploaded it to AP but I can't to upload it also.
