OSPF Areas over Point to Point

I am relativley new to OSPF and I have a question regarding Areas. If I have two offices at different locations connected via a leased line point to point T1, can both of these networks reside on the same area?(area0 for instance) Also, if I have to create different areas for each LAN and the connection in between, will I need to use a virtual link to connect one LAN to the backbone area?

Thanks in advance,

DF

If you have two remotes and one central site, you probably don't need to create areas (other than zero).

If you created multiple areas, you won't need a virtual link if area zero is the hub and both remotes connect to area zero. You only need a virtual linke when area 1 (for instance) connects to area 2 which connects to area 0.
