OSPF BDR

Hi,

I have three routers connected via frame relay.

R1 Spoke - lo1- 160.1.1.1

R3 Hub -lo1 - 160.3.3.3

R2 Spoke -lo1- 160.2.2.2

I am running Ospf with Network type broadcast.

When I see the ip ospf interface each of the spokes become BDR .

Would like to know why is it so.why not one DR and Onr BDR.

thanx

Re: OSPF BDR

Hello Sanjav,

This is probably due to some connectivity issue between the Branch offices in the FR cloud (nbma).

But, a good practise is to set priority to 0 on both spokes as the HUB should be the DR in all cases.

Vlad.
