ospf, IA routes

How do I filter out IA routes. I want all my areas to only have routes from their own area and the default(s) to area 0. Is there an ospf mechanism to do this or do I have to use access-list and dis-lists?

There is a mechanism in ospf designed to do this, and it's called "totally stuby area".

To configure this you will have to configure "area x stub" in router config mode, on all routers in the respective area, including the ABR.

After this step is finished, configure "area x stub no-summary" only on the ABR.

Cheers
