Could someone help explain why I keep seeing OSPF interface retransmit messages in my gateway router logs. I run a bunch of foundry routers on my network and have verified that the MTU is set to 1500.

Sorry, My network comprises of cisco routers and a couple foundry boxes as well.

what routing protocols are you running on your routers?

Not sure what you mean. Elaborate please. But, does the interface come up. If not check your sn masks to verify they are equal.
