Hi All..I am installing a small OSPF network with encryption and mutliple routes . At the core I am using area0 for the LAN and area10 for the WAN . Is there a way of configuring the core to statefully use the Inter area routes in preference to the Intra routes . I have a problem with the crypto SAs not forming correctly due to asymetric routing .
Many thanks
Mike

No OSPF will always prefer an interarea router over an intrarea route . My suggestion would be to use the ip's of the directly connected links to form your IPsec Tunnel , that way they would be in the same area and see the route as directly connected.

Hi,
Maybe you miswritten your words. OSPF prefers a route in that way:
1- Most specific route
2- Inra-area route
3- Inter-area
4- External type1 route
5- External type2 route
6- If there are more than 1 route at this stage prefer the route having lowest cost
7- If there is multiple route having the same cost equal cost load balancing occurs at this stage.
Best Regards

Hi,
I cann't understand your requirement of overriding Inter area routes preference with Intra area routes.
Please elaborate the problem a little bit that will help to answer.

Ashok.
