We currently have a full mesh frame-relay network spanning into the UK. Management wants to put in another frame for redundancy and load balance. We're currently using OSPF for routing. My question is what's the best way to utilize both frames? Should we use CEF or just apply equal cost for the links? We also want to be able to prioritze the traffic. The routers are 3640 & 3745.
The easiest way to load balance with OSPF is to assign equal cost to each interface. It is based on bandwidth, so if all of the frame relay links are using the same number of channels, it should load balance by default if there are two paths to that network. The Traffice prioritization is a different issue and can be handled with traffic shapping and queueing.
