OSPF over NBMA

Hi;

this is kind of a primitive question but i really need to understand this.

On NBMA interfaces when the neighbor command is used to identify neighbors does the router use unicast or multicast (224.0.0.5) to contact the neighbors??

Also, when do i need to configure the "frame-relay map ip <address> <DLCI> broadcast" command on NBMA interfaces ??

thanks

Re: OSPF over NBMA

Hi,

When neighbour command is used then hello's are sent as unicast packets. when we configure broadcast with frame-relay map ip then neighbours are discovered automatically, no need to use neighbour command manually,

Hope it helps,

sudha
