output-pattern-list between ethernet and token ring media

When applying output-pattern-list, in mixed media where MAC format is Canonical on one interface and non-canonical is on the other, the MAC format in the output-pattern-list needs to be applied based on the format of the "source" packet. The logic is the ACL will get checked first before the bit-swap would occur.

Re: output-pattern-list between ethernet and token ring media

Stations---ether----rtr-----dlsw-----rtr----TR----Host(s)

4000.0000.00xx

Filter traffic sending out to ethernet bridge, allowing with source MAC of 4000.0000.00xx to any device on ethernet bridge.

Both rtr routers are config for dlsw. So all MAC in token ring and DLSW would be using non-canonical format and

MAC in the ethernet bridge will be using canonical format.

In the ethernet interface where we have bridge group enable, the config:

interface FastEthernet1/0

speed 100

full-duplex

bridge-group 1

bridge-group 1 output-pattern-list 1103

The access-list will look like:

access-list 1103 permit 4000.0000.0000 8000.0000.00ff 0000.0000.0000 ffff.ffff.ffff
