Packet Filtering by DNS domain?

Does anyone know of a way to set up access lists/conduits on either a router or PIX Firewall to filter traffic based on the DNS Domain suffix (i.e. cisco.com, etc) it is sourced from? I am unaware of any mechanism to do this with Cisco equipment.

Any input is appreciated.

Thank you,

Jeff.

Re: Packet Filtering by DNS domain?

URL filtering on a pix is only possible with a websense server. See link: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_62/cmdref/tz.htm#xtocid5

For IOS see link: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/63/nbar_acl_codered.shtml#1

Change the class-map/policy map/acl (deal with matching policies in the access-list) to fit what you want to block.

Hope it helps.

Steve

I guess a N2H2 server would also work with the PIX.
