Passive Interface

Is it possible to define passive interface for all interfaces on 4510R switch except the ones connected to routers, so that I don´t have RIP protocol passing through the LAN?

Not sure about rip but for all other protocols under the routing protocol just issue the command "passive-interface default" and then just do a "no passive-interface slot/port" for the interfaces you want to run the protocol on.

Hello Marcia,

you could try to do a:

4510R#conf t

4510R#(config)router rip

4510R#(config-router)#passive-interface default

If the command is there, then you'll are good to go!
