Password recovery with corrupt boot image on sup720

Trying password recovery on a 6513 with sup720. From rom monitor, confreg 0x2142 and reset is not working as startup config is not being bypassed. Problem is that working image s72033-pk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin is on sup-bootflash but config is set to use deleted image s72033-jk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB6.bin from bootflash.

What I am getting on boot up is:

open(): Open Error = -9

loadprog: error - on file open

boot: cannot load "bootflash:s72033-jk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB6.bin"

rommon 1 > confreg 0x2142

rommon 2 > reset

goes back into rmmon after that it does not get to open the file from bootflash.

There is no option to use boot sup-bootflash: from rommon.

When using boot system, router used default setting and image loads without bypassing the startup config.

Hi

First of all you need to change the variable that define the image.

From rommon use the set command to define

rommon 1> set

BOOT=s72033-pk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin

And try again

Please rate this post if it resolve the issue.
