PBR

If I want to load balance half my network on 1 internet router and the other on another router, if I use pbr to set next hop, do I still need a default route to both routers ?

Re: PBR

Are the two links from the same ISP and do the single router has two smart serial ports. If yes then you can do load balancing on router it self by enabling IP CEF.

The above process will be helpfull if you dont have any conditions in routing half netwwork traffic from one particular link and another half network from another link.

Hope this helps.

Re: PBR

If you have two routers and connect to the Internet via 2 links. You can use MHSRP to separate the traffic. One group of user point to first HSRP group and the second half point to the another HSRP group.

Each router do not require to exchage routes and only use local routing table.

If still insist on PBR solution, you may not require two default route but it really depends on the design and connection to ISP.

Please advise more details then we can understand the situation more.

Hope this helps.
