Performance of a cisco router

While buying a Cisco Router which should be capable of handling multiple T1 or T3 lines what should be considered for good performance, like the processing speed,cpu. what is the ideal hardware what will suffice multiple t1 or t3 connections with BGP Running.

I wouldn't worry about router CPU speed -- it doesn't tell you much about performance capability. The way Cisco tends to rate router performance is by packets-per-second, but even this tells you fairly little.

Your concerns appear to be bandwidth, interface density (# of T1s/T3s supported), and potentially memory amount for BGP. In all cases we'll need to know more about your requirements before being able to make a recommendation. How many T1/T3s do you need the router to support? What are the approximate bandwidth requirements? (For example, does the router need to support full utilization of the T1/T3 interfaces simultaneously?)

As for BGP, does the router need to take the full Internet routing table from one or more ISPs? Or will it only use default routes? You only need to worry about memory amount if you're planning on doing the former.
