Hi,
Could someone give me an advice for a suitable loop free EIGRP configuration w/c I will be applying to our 3 interconnected intranet sites, currently we're on static routing configuration to every intranet connections.
Also i would like to keep our static routing config & make EIGRP as backup route in case one of our direct intranet routes failed.
Attached image visualized our intranet network, those serial connected routers are to be subject for eigrp routing.
Thanks
Cliff

Your static routing & EIGRP could co-exist, with static having a higer priority over EIGRP. Since static has a higher Admin distance than EIGRP.
However, EIGRP operates on DUAL algorithm which means it calculates dual path to a destination & stores them in topology table. In case of failure of primary path, secondary automatically takes over.
Thus, if your only concern is redundancy you can very well achieve this by running EIGRP & redistributing static in to it.

Hi,
We have tried once this settings:
eigrp 100
redistribute static
network 11.0.0.0
no auto-summary
And our intranet links bandwidth are all 1Mbps.
When we enable eigrp on all 3 sites, routing problems will occur.
Like for example, static routes going straight point-to-point between sites, will take other paths intstead of just going straight.
Does static route via next hop & via interface have different effects on eigrp calculations?
Thanks
CLiff
