PFC2 - HSRP groups limitations

I wish to have more detailed informations about the following log message:

%MLS-3-FIB_MAXHSRP :Maximum number of supported HSRP addresses (16) exceeded

that is logged in a Cat65xx Sup Engine 2

when I configure a new interface Vlan on the MSFC2 routing engine.

I have found something about PFC2 limitations to support more than 16 HSRP groups (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/12_1e/swconfig/cef.htm).

Is this a genuine information? I have configured more than 50 HSRP groups on a Supervisor II with MSFC2/PFC2 and all seems to be up and running in an optimal way.

Someone could help me?

the problem is after 16 hrsp groups, everything else is software switched so you will some load on the msfc, so you will have

some +500 kpps instead of 15 or 30 Mpps and the CPU

may go high on the MSFC2 - this is definitely not recommended.

Same groups numbers may be used in different VLANs
