hii folks,

I have a 1841 router alongwith a checkpoint connected in my n/w.

The external i/f of 1841 has a /30IP for internet and the internal i/f again has a /30 IP for connectivity to the checkpoint from the router. when i try to ping the checkpoint wan from the router or viceversa.. am not able to get the icmp reply,i have checked the port settings, but still same..wht could be the cause???

A lot of firewalls out there will not respond to pings, for security reasons... I suspect that may be the case here too.

hii paresh,

thanks for the same,, f/w blocking icmp is fine but do u thnk anything else could cause thiss???

nope it sounds like the firewall would be the suspect here. You can try allowing echo and echo-reply if you are still having the problemm
