ping on the local router gateway exceeds normal delays

Hai all ,we r facing a strange problem.we connected a small office which consists of 6 pcz to internet through a DSL 64 Kbps link using cisco 677.The network works fine for 2 minutes and then starts getting clogged .if i remove the WAN link the network works fine .pls advise ....anything to do with broadcasts ?

Hi,

I would watch your interfaces and see what the statistics are showing, errors drops and the like. Parallel I would check that unnecessary Protocols are removed from the network (i.e. IPX on Printer Boxes ...) This could be a braodcast problem, but you need more info to find out for sure. Use sh int, sh proc cpu, sh mem to start off with. How are the PC configured? Gateway? and so on.

Thanks for the reply.we tried out all those we could....but i left the virus...

it was the blaster and welchia virus gining the problems.
