Ping problem

Hi,

My network looks like this in the Catalyst 4506:

Internet -- Firewall (10.0.0.253) -- (Vlan 1, 10.0.0.254)some servers (10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2) --

(Vlan 2 10.0.1.254) some servers (10.0.1.1 and 10.0.1.2)

(Vlan 3 10.0.2.254) some servers (10.0.2.1 and 10.0.2.2)

Old network (Vlan 4 192.168.168.210)

Catalyst ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.253

When I try to ping from the firewall to 10.0.0.1 it works. When I try to ping from 10.0.0.1 to the firewall it won't work. When I try to ping from 10.0.1.1 to the firewall it works, but when I try to ping to 10.0.0.1 it fails.

I have de default gateway set as follows:

Firewall(10.0.0.253) Default Gateway: 10.0.0.254

Server (10.0.1.1) Default Gateway: 10.0.1.254

Al the other servers and pc's in the other Vlan's have there subnet set to the Vlan ip number.

Is there a problem in the routing table?

Maybe you have a firewall issue. Is ping allowed both ways (IN and OUT).

Make sure that the subnet mask on 10.0.0.1 is set properly.
